Projekte: Tuomi

The three musicians met in Berlin and immediately discovered their own sound. The trios program contains only original material in exception of some Shakespeare sonnets and poems by E.A.Poe. Their unique approach leaps across the stylistic borders of chamber music, folk, pop, jazz the art of song, with the entertaining ease and serious intensity of musical virtuosity. In spring 2005 they published their highly acclaimed debut "Tightrope Walker".

Kristiina Tuomi

Young Singer and clinician studied vocal jazz at the "Hochschule der Künste" in Berlin. Has performed on the opera stage as well as jazz festivals. She is also featured many times on House- and Downbeat productions on the renowned London label "CLASSIC".

Carsten Daerr (Germany)

Carsten Daerr

Pianist and composer won several prices at composition contests, His first at the age of eleven. Finished his studies in 2001 at the "Hochschule der Künste" Berlin. Performed at several international jazz festivals and appeared on various CD productions. Member of the Yehudi Menuhin foundation "Life Music Now" since February 2001.

Carlos Bica (Portugal)

Carlos Bica

Bassist and composer Carlos Bica is one of the most skilled and innovative jazzmusicians of his country. In Portugal, his debut album "Azul" (Polygram records 1996) was voted "jazz album of the year". He himself was chosen to be the "jazz musician of the year" two years later and his following recordings "Twist" and Diz" (ENJA) were celebrated by the press.
